General Information

The Tauranga Harbour Challenge has 13 years experience of being one of the best events in New Zealand. Some 500 competitors flock to the shores to experience the event and compete against the country's best. Over the years competitors from all around the World have competed at this event and we hope they continue to make it one of their event choices.

The Race

Competitors will base themselves at Race HQ - the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club. The Race start will head up the Tauranga Harbour to the Maungatapu bridge and return along the Otumoetai Channel. For W6 canoes they will then head along the Otumoetai Channel before returning to the Tauranga Harbour Bridge and then back to the finish line in front of the Tauranga Yacht and Powerboat Club. Course Maps show the extent of the course.

After Function - Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club

At 4pm the Hangi Meal will be provided for all paddlers, following this paddlers have time for a shower and then meet to see the great footage of the racing.
